Remember the Inappropriate Elf Challenge?
Well, [info]cesperanza wasn't around for this one; I take full blame. Same idea, different... um... idea.

I want inappropriate crossovers.

Got an idea of two things that should never, ever be crossed? Write it! A drabble, a 500-word snippet, (heck, an epic, if you're into those things, I suppose), anything. Post it here in comments. Buffy/Star Wars! Due South/Miami Vice! War of the Worlds/boyband fic! Apocalypse Now/It's a Wonderful Life! Sharpe/anything by a Bronte sister! The only caveat is: don't write anything that you've seen done before, unless you can do it brilliantly better.

Okay, who's with me?

Deadline? What's that?

-shrug- I figure, if folks start writing them, I'll see how it goes, and announce a closing when I start to either feel overwhelmed at the volume or get depressed at the lack of it. These aren't meant to take tons of thought, though. Unless you want to!

I hate you. I really do. Because I have an idea, dammit, and now I'm going to have to figure out Sorkin-speak. Not to mention I specifically told people not to do this sort of thing.

See, now that I read that Commandments list, I want to write a bunch of crossovers. Possibly eleven - one for each commandment, and one for all of the together.

I know you only asked for insanity, not insane obscurity, but... I'm seizing the moment. I've had this lying around on my harddrive for years. There are good reasons why I've never done anything with it; I'm probably the only person on earth who's even vaguely amused by it, and I'll be surprised if anyone knows these guys. But, it's a crossover, and it's insane, so there you have it. :-)

What about all the crossovers I've already written? Do they count?

How about Homicide/The Chief? Can I do that one? It's already half-written. Or Homicide/For the Greater Good (Peter Balliol). Oh, honey, I can think of some really interesting ones. What about Bayliss in Middle Earth? Or Jack from Stargate? He'd love the elves. Could he gate there? :-)

Sorry, I got carried away.

I'll play!

"Come on, buddy." Crockett manhandled the flamboyantly dressed man towards the waiting squad car.

"You can't do this!" He protested. "We're innocent! Victims of society!"

"Yeah, sure." Tubbs snorted. "I don't think that cruise ship you robbed would agree."

"But, Sonny," he tried pleading, "you were one of us! Remember how fun it was? Come back with me, to the ship!"

"Sorry, pal." Crockett patted him on the shoulder and started walking again.

"Stop!" the lone woman in the group shouted. "You don't know who they are -- they're noblemen!"

"Take it up with the consulate, lady." Crockett told her. He kept going.

His prisoner scowled as he entered the car. "I bet you're not really an orphan, either."

To go with the other "if you can guess this, you read too much medieval lit" entry.

****************
"What's up, Cap?" Starsky slouched into one of the chairs in front of Captain Dobey's desk, while Hutch sat more properly in the other.

"It's pretty nasty." He pushed the file across his desk; Hutch grabbed it first, and Starsky craned his neck to read over his shoulder. "We're guessing a gang war of some kind -- the muscle staying in the club's been getting picked off at night. The boss blames this guy, so he hires a thug, who --"

"You're kidding." Starsky reached that part of the report at the same time. "Rips off the guy's arm and throws it up on the roof?"

"Where's the rest of the guy?" Hutch wanted to know.

"He hasn't been found yet. That's your job. Check the hospitals, the morgue -- he can't have gotten far. Last known address is his mother's. See what she knows."

"We're on it, Cap." Starsky winked jauntily and Hutch nodded on their way out the door, and Dobey sighed at their antics. Still, he knew he could trust them to get to the bottom of it. They were the best of men.

Is Starsky and Hutch/Beowulf inappropriate enough?

I'm a bit new to the fic community here, and I don't want to commit any kind of faux pas. Would it be wrong to link to a crossover that is a) incomplete, b) posted on ff.net, and c) involves an anime series?

Ta, ever so.

(Reply to this) (Thread)

[info]loreleif
2003-04-16 08:40 pm UTC (link)
To take your questions backwards:

Anime is fine! I think I specifically mentioned we lacked that so far.

Posted on ff.net... eeeehhhhhh... I'd prefer you posted it here, just because I find them a pain, but as other folks have posted links instead of fic, there's no real problem.

Incomplete, though; well, the point of this challenge is to write something new, and to finish it before the end of the month. So unless you just started it and will finish it in the next couple weeks, I'm gonna say no. Sorry! (Which doesn't mean I wouldn't like hearing about it, it just won't count for the challenge.)
